Aveia Anderson

Aveia

I worked with this girl many years ago.  I also went to LSU with her. We didn’t take any classes together but we would always bump into each other near the fieldhouse. She had the cutest little voice and was a very sweet girl. The last time I talked with her was via Facebook where she’d told me she’d gotten married and moved  to Texas. It’s funny the guy she married was a guy I had a little crush on at a call center I use to work at as a teenager.  They were a cute little couple.  I got word Aveia passed away.  I just want to wish her family peace in their hearts and minds. I understand how it is to lose a loved one. I hope all your questions are answered!

UPDATED!

The local news reports “

A man wanted in a Texas murder was arrested in East Baton Rouge Parish, a law enforcement official said today in a news release.

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested Avis Anderson, 27, about 6 p.m. Tuesday at a relative’s St. Croix Avenue home, Casey Rayborn Hicks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said in the release.

Anderson was hiding in a bedroom closet, the release says.

He was booked into Parish Prison as a fugitive from justice, Hicks said.

Sheriff’s deputies were alerted to Anderson’s whereabouts by detectives from the Forney, Texas, police department, Hicks said. The detectives told deputies they thought Anderson was hiding out at a relative’s home at 1925 St. Croix Ave.

Deputies converged on the house and arrested Anderson shortly after, she said.

This is the man she promised her life to, her husband. What a shame!

Sincerely,

Go.

I’m so heart broken. I considered her a friend and coworker. I haven’t lived in Dallas long, and she was very sweet and sincere. I am devastated over her death. Her funeral will be in Baton Rouge on Saturday at Sweet Home Baptist Church.

I go way back with Aveia. Back to the LSU days. Her death is so unexpected. She was a wonderful person. She seemed to be at the top of her game in her life. This has made me realize that I need to pick up the phone more often. You never know when death will reach the people you care about most. She was such a beautiful girl. I just feel like she didn’t deserve to die. I find myself wishing I had talked to her more and just hear the cheeriness in her voice that I always remembered about her. Being a Christian, I know that GOD has called her home. Her work is done here. Being human, I wish that time hadn’t come so soon. I hope her family gets through the hardest of this with the help of GOD. I can’t fathom what they are going through. When I saw Aveia’s mother after all these years, I felt like I was looking at Aveia. They are the splitting image of each other. This is a time that I wish I could do more than just give condolences. However, they are forever in my prayers. Aveia will be missed by many. Her warm and welcoming personality was not something found in a lot of people. GOD has taken one of HIS best from us. May she rest in peace.

I’d heard it was suspected that he’d done this horrible thing to her. I can’t believe this!

It is hard to know her parents are in so much pain. They are really good, decent people.
Aveia did not deserve this and neither does her family and friends.

I am happy they wrapped this up quickly. I prayed last night for the killer to be found. Thank God. He should be ashamed of himself for doing this to Aveia. She was such a sweet person

I had the pleasure of working with Aveia at Chubb and Son.
When I first heard of her death, I knew she would never take her own life. Every time she and I talked, she talked about the Lord and a person that loves the Lord the way she did, would never take their own life. Aveia was a Christian woman. I don’t know why her husband did this, but I’m glad that everyone knows she did not take her own life. My prayers go out to her family. She was a beautiful young lady and I will miss her.

I was aveia’s hair stylist … WOW!! I still can’t believe this happened. .. I remember when she first came into the salon. She was a little apprehensive because her hair wasn’t quite right from previous experiences. When she decided to give me a try she became one of my best clients. We worked on her hair until She had beautiful long healthy hair and she made sure it stayed that way . My prayers go out to her family .. be strong I know it hurts ….

This is a shock to me. I met Avis (her husband) a couple of years ago. We lived in the same neighborhood in Forney. I met him when he worked for Verizon at Circuit City in Mesquite. We would talk everytime I visited the store and then we discovered we lived in the same development in Forney. He seemed to be a very nice guy with a good head on his shoulders. He seemed ambitious about life and getting his career off the ground. I never met his wife, although I did see her on several occasions at the gym in Forney. My impression of Avis is that he loved his wife and was a good Christian man that was into the church. I’m flabbergasted that this has happened. Where did things go wrong? There didn’t appear to be any domestic abuse at their house but they rarely mingled outside of the house unless they were coming or going. It is a tragedy and is very very sad. Everyday I pass their house and her car is still sitting in the driveway and I think of how she died and no one was there to help her. It is too sad!

I am still trying to unravel the pieces and with each passing day it hurts more because I am failing to come up with any answer that will soothe my heart. I still can’t think of how anyone could have thought of or followed through in hurting such a kind and gentle person. Aveia always had a kind word and sweet smile for everyone. I went to school with Aveia back in high school and there were many days that she helped to pull me through and push me when I just didnt feel like going. She will forever be missed.

A student that I don’t know asked me one day this week about a teacher dying. I told him no because I had no clue what he was talking about. Later in the week I asked a 5th grade teacher that told me it was Mrs. Anderson. I was in shock to hear of her death and even more shocked of how she died. She had subbed for my class a couple of times and never had any problems with my students and they respected her and didn’t give her any trouble. She was such a good sub, I put her in my favorites. She always had a smile on her face and carried herself like a young lady should. I am saddened to hear of this 6 months later. I am praying for her family during Christmas time, because this will be their first without her. I am praying justice is delivered and the family finds the peace of God that passes all understanding. May this tragic accident be used for His glory. God bless her family and friends that will miss her the most.

I grew up with Aveia we sang in the choir together and her mother was my 2nd mom. I also went to high school with Avis. When I heard of this tragedy I was grief stricken. I remember her as a sweet caring person,as children we were cruel to her because she was different. I really liked her but would just go along with the crowd. As an adult I realized the only difference with Aveia was we were jealous of her. She was always happy and we were so unhappy, her mother was the mother we all wanted, but hey we were kids. I remember at the wedding I told Avis you better be good to her(guess u just neva know). Aveia did everything in order: college, marriage, and about to be children. She was a good wife and would have been a good mother. Her mother and I were so close but lately I can’t bare to call her because I don’t want to upset her. But I’m so disappointed that this happened but I’m even more upset that this beautiful person was dead all that time and her parents had to come from miles away and say hey something’s wrong. I feel bad that she died alone and in the dark and was made unrecognizable to her parents. A mother will never see her beautiful daughters face again. Her services were very nice. Her parents held up very well but it was so emotional. I knew Avis did it before he was suspected(just had a feeling) I knew she didn’t harm herself….she loved God and her mother to much for that. I pray Avis gets the maximum for this crime because if he didn’t want her he could have just sent her home to her family he didn’t have to kill her! It seems he felt if I can’t have you no 1 can. Its really sad:( Luv ya always Aveia

Have you heard anything else about the case? Its really a shocker to me, i never had the pleasure of meeting Aveia but by working with Avis for a year, i felt i knew her cause he would always speak highly of her. Im just at a lost, i dont know what could have set someone off to do something like this. i know you said that you knew Avis did it, was there signs or something?

Such a lovely person. My heart hurts so bad because of this tragic thing that has taken place. Avia was one of my best fitness class friends. I had the pleasure of being her inspiration for her wanting to be a fitness instructor. I came to love her as a very dear friend. Ill never begain to understand why this was done to her. If anyone know anything about the trial, please let me know……… Im gonna miss my friend so very much. I already do. Its very hard not to think about her when Im instructing dance class. God bless her fam and her best best friend (her mother).

This is a HUGE shock! I worked with Avis while at Verizon… he would ALWAYS tell me how much he loved his wife and how blessed he was. In fact I helped him write a poem for his wife as a Valentine gift. In no way would I ever imagine he do anything violent. He seemed like such a nice guy, he was always quiet and reserved but never the violent type. While I was there he was let go from Verizon and he took it pretty hard. I don’t know if the stress from that entered the marriage, I know he would mention to me that he did not have a lot saved prior to getting let go. It still doesn’t excuse anything that was done. Its just so crazy and sad to me.

I am glad that there are still people who think of Aveia. I am her cousin and miss her dearly. Avis got 33 years and is in the Smith Unit at Lamesa, TX. I dont think it was enough time, but he plead guilty so that might be why. Senseless act on a beautiful person, but I won’t lie…I NEVER had a good feeling about Avis. EVER!

Was there ever an explanation for this happening? A motive of some sort? Anything?!
