Certainly No Pressure

I know you guys have been waiting to hear about how the visit went with him and for various reasons mostly because I feel differently about him on a day to day basis I have neglected to write about it. But I decided not to keep you guys waiting any longer. This was his first time in San Diego so our weather, beautiful Architecture and beaches certainly made quite the impression. I  live downtown so we had plenty to get in to although I think we both would have been perfectly fine with just cuddling for four days. I didn’t get nervous until I made my way to baggage claims to greet him. I wondered if we’d even recognize each other, people can look different in pictures but as I was texting a friend and trying to hold in cheesiest grin ever he walked up with a baseball cap on and greeted me with a hug. He must have been getting quite nervous himself he smelled like he’d been drinking on the plane. He said he noticed my legs before he even noticed it was me. I wore a cute short black dress with black wedged open toe pumps, my hair was the bomb and my eyes were popping with a bright blue. We took a cab to my spot to put his luggage up and hit the streets of downtown San Diego for our first date. We immediately went into couple mode and it came quite naturally, I didn’t even expect that.

The next morning I had to work and before I left I prepared him breakfast. I had pancakes leftover from our dinner that I’d saved for him since I forgot to get sourdough bread for french toast. I scrambled eggs, pan seared a slice of ham for him and made him a fresh cup of coffee. He was happy and under protest I left him and headed to work. The plan was for him to be out and about while I was at work exploring the city streets but he pretty much just slept the entire time I was at work. I left early at the instruction of my director. I think she was just as excited as I was. By the time I got home he was dressed. Walking towards me in a nice blazer and jeans *swoons*. We didn’t have any real plans so I decided since it was still early we’d cross one of my favorite structures near Embarcadero Marina park and walk along the bay. Somehow we ended up at the Crab Hut my ultimate hot spot for Oysters on a half shell and beer. I also have a buddy that works there that I’d told he was coming visit soon. Not long after we were there he text me “is that him?” Yes it was. He even tried Oysters on a half shell for the first time and was quite pleased. I’m so glad he’s not a picky eater. We’d plan to go out later to a bar but after we did a little walking tour of 5th street  we ended up being perfectly fine with cuddling and falling asleep. He said he secretly hoped I fell asleep because he was tired. What’s funny is I’d hoped the same thing but I didn’t want to be a dud so I was down for whatever he wanted to do.

Saturday we met my one and only friend in San Diego (aka Tour Guide)  for brunch at a bar I frequent quite often. He was shocked at how much food you could get for only $6.99 and the food is great. It’s my ultimate brunch spot. I got to try this beer he loves, but it’s gross. Named “arrogant bastard” and honestly you’d have to be to drink it. We had a few drinks then headed home to get ready for our dinner cruise. It was perfect.

Sunday we went to the store to get the ingredients for smoked Salmon and avocado omelets and mimosas. After brunch we were so full we laid down for a nap and ended up sleeping through half of the time that was reserved for our beach day but eventually we made it to the beach. It was beautiful. We came home showered up and headed  out for our last dinner on this visit but not before I got quite tipsy off of one “slutty martini”. He passed on the gin.

Monday came all too fast we were up early and at it slightly rushing to the airport but on time. It was funny I thought I was going to be super sad that he was leaving but I hugged him like I’d see him again soon not even knowing if I’d ever see him again. He headed towards his gate and I headed to work.

Overall I’d give this experience an A+, we got along perfectly and I certainly enjoyed his company. If things continue to move in a positive direction I can expect to see him again before the end of the year. Even though things seem to have gone well on his visit I’m still not even sure where we stand as far as a potential relationship. It appears as though we both are proceeding with caution and surprisingly and probably for the first time in forever in my life things didn’t change after sex. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. I’d like to see where things go from here.

Sorry to keep you guys waiting.

I was wondering how the visit with for you and happy to read it was notable. It seems as though you both let the day guide you without planning, I sometimes feel those are the best days. No plans, no time limits for here or there. But I also believe in taking things slow, lot of times when you are not looking or hoping for a relationship it happens. I wish you and him the best. As I wrote previously my fiancé and I started out as friends nothing more or less we met at professional seminar. I say let it flow and happen. ;-)

@Talulazoeapple yes there was sex I won’t say I was shocked but I will say I was shocked at how soon it happened like @Kitty said we just kinda went with the flow. It was cool.
